Are they either leaving or going full on 'cult mode'? No quarter.

it might just be me imagining things.. i hear things from my jw spies.. from all that's being said, it seems to me that the rank and file(tm), are either waking up to the scam and fading/leaving.

they are going full on 'cult mode' and acting like 'spiritual police'.. is it just me and my imagination?

have others noticed this?.

Moving out of the status quo is the smart way to go. Stasis is no good. Either, lose members and have more real estate for sale, or grow...yeah... right.

Do they prepare for preaching or do they socialize?

my brother (a jw for 30 years) and i purchased a duplex.

he lives in one house, i live in the other, our common area separating both houses is the backyard.

we both can see each other's house across our common backyard.

About a year ago he moved from a Spanish congregation to an English congregation and few weeks later he made available his house to meet before Sunday's preaching, from his side of the backyard, under a gazebo with curtains that block my view of the congregants, but not my hearing. I don't think I exaggerate if I say that 4/5 of the time is socializing and 1/5 is for the leader to do his dissertation, or whatever is called. Good for them. Has it been always like this?

Next week I am going to clock the time they spent socializing versus the time of the preparation for preaching.

I have to guess, based on what I see in my neighborhood, that the actual preaching is even worse. Perhaps 90 % socializing?

Another brother steps back

so at the meeting this week it was announced that a certain brother was no longer serving as a ministerial servant.. this is a guy who was brought up in a different country as his family went to serve where the need was greater.

this is a guy who was home schooled and went straight into pioneering.

he then went and worked on building projects in various places in europe and africa.

The WT is very relevant as long as the governments of the world and lawyers are targeting them to make them pay for their crimes and reclaim the money they stole from innocent people. It will be a while before they lose interest. That's the day that I hope I get to see, when the WT is of no interest to no one, but the hard core, totally brain washed, dying old generation.

Keep them coming. I am 51, and I hope I live long enough to see this cult brought down and turned into an irrelevant dying religion of very old people.

Whoever thinks that's is a fallacy black men are getting killed left and right, and that this country isn't full of racism and hate, lives like an ostrich.

Blacks may be killed left and right, but it's not by white cops. This is a small percentage. What is killing blacks left and right indirectly is their black leaders who have failed to address their biggest problems. Namely crime rates, school dropouts, fatherless homes.

Racism exist and it's still a problem, but nothing compared to 4 decades ago. it has diminished greatly. Iit may be going up again, but this time is fueled by the inability of both sides to have an honest talk. The white side often condescending, the black side often crying wolf.

Better. We still have the unsubstantiated claim of an individual with a big title. The strange thing is that Coded logic gave us statistics with lots of details that refute the claim in your quote. Who do we believe?

Edit:

I read the article and have to correct myself. We have statistics available, but not from police documents. Got it! By the way, I read the article and I feel is quite bias. It offers shocking numbers, but provides no context or the proper analysis of those numbers. Example: "Blacks are shot at twice the rate as whites", but crime rates of either group are ignored.

You may be right. I thought of being singled out based on my looks because on that particular day I was the only Hispanic (dark skin and Middle Eastern looks) in the crowd of passengers. But as I said before, I don't mind profiling based on cold data... and yes... my looks definitely correlate with airplane hijacking.
